Every project has a unique story which stems from a vision of the space, belief in a designer and a communicative relationship with the client. We loved creating this restorative haven within this light filled apartment. That the clients had an open and curious response to the design process, was an extraordinary bonus in terms of what they would trust the design to deliver.

When the family first approached us, they had a modest vision to renovate their existing home. They wanted a fresh look with our studio’s signature creative infusions. They also requested for us to maximize storage without compromising on the aesthetics of the space. Little did we know then, that we would end up altering the layout of the home with adding new touchdown spaces and breaking walls to create more room for them.

The innovative methods used for concealed storage is a great infusion into this home. This project has given us the opportunity to develop functional storage concepts and use our skills to maximize an aesthetic appearance even in limited spaces. Here, it was all about finding elegance in the relationship of simple forms and natural materials. Using a grid system, the wall paneling seamlessly integrates a bar cabinet, storage cabinets and open niches for art and electronics making for an unobtrusive design in the Informal Living Room. 

Another favourite is the custom designed bar that is articulately hand crafted with over 250 pieces of a rare stone. Sourced from the finest quarry in Italy, the exotic blue Azul marble bar is unique in form, character and colour. Designed as a standalone dismantable piece, it’s an investment for the client that can be versatile as it transforms into different compositions.
